the owl and the squirrel

Today I did some commission work for a babies room. Two 'canvases' with some animals. We don't know the sex of the baby, so I tried to keep it neutral. I think it's pretty cute, I hope they like it!

A is for...

Today I went to Value Village in search of cool fabrics.. I bought a couple of suit jackets (which were more expensive than I thought they'd be!).

A while ago I saw a picture of what looked like an industrial felt alphabet pillow.. so unable to get my hands on the felt just yet.. I thought the suit material would work just as well.. I kept the lapel and button in for a bit of interest.. I think it turned out pretty well for my first attempt.

Bigger elephant

So I've been working on an elephant pattern for a while.. but never getting it quite right. So today I photocopied and enlarged the tiny elephant pattern I had before and altered it a bit have myself a medium sized elephant. It's pretty similar but his trunk is down.. I might add toenails on the next one.

cuffs!

My cuffs are now for sale at Ghetto Trade on Sydenham St. So I spent hours yesterday whipping up some more :P I decided to keep two for myself ... how can I not?

New necklace

So I've been thinking about this for a while, but been totally uninspired to make any jewelry. But today I had some time so I finally sat down.. I think it turned out pretty cool, I love pretty much everything that involves cork.. now to decide if I keep it or sell it..

Art show leftovers

I just wrapped up an art show at Starbucks and I sold 3 pieces! Here is my favourite one, which didn't sell and is now on my wall :) As much as I wanted everything to sell, I'm pretty happy I get to keep this one :)


















I'm going to do something similar but much larger for a juried art show coming up in Kingston.. the deadline is the end of the month, I think I need to get started!
